Shanghai Utsukushigaoka Montessori Kindergarten assists in the growth of children by the educational idea of Montessori

   The Christmas holiday is done, and this January our second term began. After a break, all the children seemed to have grown up a lot, especially our pink brothers and sisters. During the Christmas holiday, many of our students were vacationing in different places: skiing in Japan, riding elephants in Thailand, diving in Australia and so on. We asked the students to draw these good memories.

   On January 14th, we invited all the families for the Rice Pounding event to celebrate the New Year. This is the tradition in Japan and also in south China. "Nian Gao" means "better and better" every year. We take this rice pounding as our school's traditional activity. With "Yoisho, Yoisho!" , everyone tried their best to pound rice with the hammers. After pounding, some moms delivered the lump into small pieces. Everyone ate it with soy sauce, seaweed and red bean paste. So YAMMY!

   This January 29th is our birthday party. This month we have five students celebrating their birthdays. Happy birthday to them!
